Woodbury Common Premium Outlets Presents Check to Simon Scholarship Winner

Scholarship provided by Simon Youth Foundation

CENTRAL VALLEY, N.Y. (Aug. 21, 2017) — Staff from Woodbury Common Premium Outlets, a Simon Premium Outlet, honored a local college scholarship winner with a check presentation at the Outlets on Saturday, August 19.

The scholarship, valued at $10,000 over the course of four years, is provided by the Simon Youth Foundation, a national nonprofit that champions educational opportunities for students of all backgrounds. Each year, SYF awards a scholarship to a deserving student who lives within 50 miles of a Simon property.

The winner this year is Caraline McDonnell, a graduate of Carmel High School in Carmel. McDonnell is a Girl Scouts Gold Award winner, was on the varsity ski team and the president of the Book Club at her high school. She will be attending Colgate University in Hamilton, N.Y., in the fall and will pick a major when she arrives on campus.

McDonnell’s passions include reading, playing the piano, Irish Step Dance, singing and acting. She would like to pursue a career that involves working with children.

The next round of applications for SYF scholarships opened on August 15. Students can apply online by visiting syf.org/scholarships.
