Wilson Elser’s John Flannery Joins the Board of Directors of the Hudson Valley Economic Development Corporation

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. (March 9, 2021) – National law firm Wilson Elser announced today that John Flannery, Managing Partner of its White Plains, N.Y., office, has been named to the Board of Directors of the Hudson Valley Economic Development Corporation.

business community and I look forward to working together on economic-development issues that impact our region,” said Mike Oates, President & CEO of the HVEDC.

In addition to managing the White Plains office, Mr. Flannery is a member of Wilson Elser’s firm-wide Executive Committee, which runs the firm. His practice focuses on civil litigation, including claims involving toxic torts, commercial disputes, civil rights, municipal and product liability, and employment litigation.

He currently sits on several area Boards of Directors:

  • – Westchester County Health Care Corporation, which oversees 10 area hospitals and two physician-practice groups in the Westchester Medical Center Health Network (WMCHealth).
  • – United Way of Westchester and Putnam Counties.
  • – Pace University Law School Board of Visitors.
  • – Westchester County Association.

 

Mr. Flannery also has been active in civil legal services for the disadvantaged in the community. He was on the New York State Interest On Lawyer Account Fund board for 12 years and on the Legal Services of the Hudson Valley board for six years. He also was named the “Man of the Year” for LSHV in 2019, the year after he stepped down from its board.

Mr. Flannery earned a J.D. in 1991 from the Dickinson School of Law at Pennsylvania State University and a B.A. from Colgate University in 1988.
