WALDEN SAVINGS BANK’S ANNUAL “22 DAYS OF GIVING” CAMPAIGN BENEFITS 41 LOCAL CAUSES

Bank donates nearly $21,000 in Bank-matched employee donations to causes near and dear to employees’ hearts

MONTGOMERY, N.Y. (January 29, 2019) – For Walden Savings Bank, the season of giving didn’t end with the conclusion of the calendar year. The Bank kicked off its second annual “22 Days of Giving” campaign on December 20 and it lasted until mid-January, long after most holiday efforts had wrapped up. Throughout the duration of the campaign, the Bank donated nearly $21,000 to local causes.

“Walden Savings Bank established the 22 Days of Giving campaign to support individuals in need and organizations that make a difference in the Hudson Valley,” said Derrik R. Wynkoop, President and CEO of Walden Savings Bank. “There are critical needs in local communities that exist all year long, not just during the holiday season.”

Throughout the year, Walden Savings Bank supports the community through sponsorships, donations and a robust Community Service Program, which provides employee volunteers to community organizations. Employees are empowered to choose causes with missions that resonate most with them.

  • Walden Savings Bank employees make a weekly contribution for the opportunity to dress casually each Friday. These donations, along with a match by the Bank, have been distributed to each of the Bank’s departments, who then identify a worthwhile cause to support. On each of the 22 days, the Bank spotlights one of its 22 departments or branches on social media, using the hashtag #WSBCares, to share why they selected the individual or organization of their choice.

In addition to local individuals and families in need, more than 40 organizations were included, addressing multiple causes including: Animals, Hunger, Veterans, Cancer, Mental Health, Disabilities, Poverty, Domestic Violence, Homelessness, Heart Disease, and Education.
