MONTGOMERY, N.Y. (November 28, 2011) – Walden Savings Bank has selected Frederick H. Mills as Assistant Vice President – Commercial Lending. Mills began in his new position Nov. 28.
Mills has gained a wide variety of skills in his more than 20 years as a banker in the Hudson Valley and Buffalo, N.Y. Most recently, he was Assistant Vice President, Community Business Loan Officer, for Provident Bank in Middletown, N.Y. At Provident Bank in Suffern, N.Y., he was Assistant Vice President, Commercial Loan Officer, from 2008 to 2011, and Assistant Vice President, Senior Underwriter, in 2008.
Prior to that he was Vice President, Senior Relationship Manager, of Key Bank in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., from 2004 to 2008; and was in many positions with steady promotions at HSBC Bank USA in Buffalo and Newburgh, N.Y., from 1991 to 2004. Mills holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the State University of New York at Buffalo.
“Fred has a broad experience in commercial lending, real estate lending, underwriting and customer relationships that will be very beneficial to Walden Savings Bank,” said President and CEO Derrik R. Mills was awarded the Forty Under Forty – Hudson Valley’s Shaker Award from the Southern Dutchess Chamber of Commerce in 2007 and the Forty Under Forty – Rising Stars Award from the Orange County Chamber of Commerce in 2008. He is a member of the 2012 Leadership Orange Class and is a past president and current member of the Newburgh Rotary Club.

Mills lives in Fishkill, N.Y., with his wife and three children.
