Walden Savings Bank Celebrates 45 Years in Washingtonville

Bank Expresses Appreciation to Community with Awards to Local Not-for-profit Organizations

WASHINGTONVILLE, N.Y. (May 22, 2018) – On Friday, May 18, Walden Savings Bank celebrated its 45th year of providing banking products and services to the Washingtonville community. The Bank hosted a celebration to commemorate the anniversary and express its appreciation of the community’s ongoing support.

Crist, and Washingtonville Branch Manager, Martha Barrera, presented a grant to representatives from local not-for-profit organization Food for Kids at the celebration.

“We’d like to extend our sincere thanks to the residents of Washingtonville for their continued trust and patronage,” said Washingtonville Branch Manager, Martha Barrera. “The village of Washingtonville is a vibrant, tightknit community and Walden Savings Bank is happy to be a part of it.”

Community members in attendance were entered in a drawing for a chance to win door prizes from local merchants and a grand prize of a “Taste of Washingtonville” prize package, with gift certificates and merchandise from local merchants. In addition, grants were presented to local not-for-profit organizations, including the following:

-Monell Engine Company
-Museum Village
-Town of Blooming Grove Neighbors for Neighbors
-Food for Kids
-Humane Society of Blooming Grove
-Kiwanis Club of Washingtonville

“We could not think of a better way to celebrate 45 years than by giving back to the people and organizations who make a difference right here in Washingtonville,” added President and CEO, Derrik Wynkoop.

As part of its ongoing mission to support the community it serves, Walden Savings Bank also invited both customers and non-customers to bring recyclable materials to be shredded as part of the Bank’s Community Shred Day on Saturday, May 19. Community Shred Day helps protect the environment while also preserving the security of confidential documents.
