Event is the first of many events Walden Savings Bank employees will participate in during the month of October to support breast cancer awareness
MONTGOMERY, N.Y. (October 10 2019) – Upwards of a thousand local residents, most donning pink, came out to Angry Orchard Friday evening. They enjoyed a tasting bar, live music and corn hole games, all part of Walden Savings Bank’s third annual Real Men Wear Pink event.
More than $2,500 was raised for the American Cancer Society’s breast cancer awareness initiatives on Friday alone. It’s just the start as all tips garnered from events at Angry Orchard throughout the month of October will benefit the cause.
The fundraising is being spearheaded by Real Men Wear Pink participant and Walden Savings Bank Vice President Mike Snyder.
“I am proud to be the face of this important cause on behalf of Walden Savings Bank,” said Snyder. “One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. Early diagnosis is the key to survival, and we are committed to doing our part to raise awareness.”
The Real Men Wear Pink event was just the first of many events Walden Savings Bank (WSB) employees will participate in as part of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. A WSB team will play in the Moonlight Golf Tournament at Stony Ford Golf Course on October 11 and walk in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk at Woodbury Common Premium Outlets on October 20.
