VERTICON LTD. NAMED FOUNDING MEMBER OF HUDSON VALLEY FOOD & BEVERAGE ALLIANCE

General contractor and full-service construction firm joins newly formed regional organization

NEW WINDSOR, N.Y. (July 12, 2012) – Verticon Ltd., a general contracting and full-service construction firm with 75 years of industry experience, has joined the Hudson Valley Food & Beverage Alliance as a founding member.

Located in Monroe, N.Y., Verticon provides a variety of services, such as pre-construction consultation, renovation and expansion, facility operations design, general construction, planning board representation and broker support services. The firm also provides construction management, site evaluation, design/build, build-to-suit or lease and cost consulting.

Third-generation family-owned and operated by Irving and Alan Zuckerman, Verticon has done a variety of both production and distribution facilities for both small and large companies that produce food products and that are involved in food-related businesses.

“Recognizing the changes in regional agriculture from primarily dairy to produce, both vegetables, fruit, mushroom to cake icing and cookies and flavorings, we want to support the families producing goods both sold in the green markets in New York City and the many farm markets in the region,” said Irving Zuckerman, co-president.

“We are a very proud participant in the Hudson Valley Food & Beverage Alliance and enjoy working with the Hudson Valley Economic Development Corp. and the other founding members of the Hudson Valley Food & Beverage Alliance,” said Alan Zuckerman, co-president.

The Food & Beverage Alliance focuses on helping food and beverage companies and related businesses in the area work together as strong partners. Launched by Hudson Valley Economic Development Corp. (HVEDC), the organization includes industry businesses, farmers, vegetable growers, beverage producers, distributors, business partners and other related organizations.

“We are very pleased to have Verticon join the Food & Beverage Alliance as our newest founding member,” said Mike Oates, President and CEO of the HVEDC. “Verticon is an excellent business partner of food and beverage companies and is respected throughout the region.”

The Zuckerman brothers both serve on boards involved in economic development in the region: Irving is a board member with the Rockland Business Association, a founding member of the Orange County Alliance for Balanced Growth, a member and consultant to the Orange County Land Trust and a select committee member of the Rockland Economic Development Corp. Alan is a board member with the Sullivan County Partnership and its Shovel Ready Committee. Alan also served on the board of the Associated General Contractors of New York State.
