FISHKILL, N.Y. (Sept. 16, 2015) — Elant at Fishkill was the beneficiary of a kind deed in memory of 9/11 survivors and victims by United Way of the Dutchess-Orange Region loan executives.
The seven loaned executives spent the morning of 9/11 at Elant’s Fishkill campus sprucing up gardens by planting mums and spreading mulch.
“These are very high level volunteers who are basically working for United Way in addition to doing their own jobs,” said Michelle Nepton, United Way’s development coordinator. “This is the time of year where they’re handling five to seven United Way accounts. And they’re continuing to give back by coming here on 9/11 to do something nice for others.”
The loan executives are Linda Shuback, of Frontier Communications in Middletown; Joe Cuccia, of D’Arcangelo & Co. in Poughkeepsie; Maria Gardner of Central Hudson Gas and Electric in Poughkeepsie; Haydee Furman of Orange County Trust Co. in Middletown; Jordan Mentry of Wilmington Trust in Fishkill; DeWayne Haygood of Jeff Bank of Sullivan County; and Kyle Richardson of Bridgeway Federal Credit Union in Poughkeepsie.
“We’re very grateful to these wonderful people for wanting to make our Fishkill campus even more attractive for our residents and their families and our staff,” said Patricia Roza, Elant at Fishkill’s director of activities. “Their thoughtfulness and generosity are community service examples for others to follow.”
