KINGSTON, N.Y. (March 15, 2012) – Ulster County Executive Mike Hein is proud to announce that Ulster County Tourism, in conjunction with Ulster County Development Corporation and with funding from Ulster Savings Bank is presenting a series of workshops on marketing for tourism and hospitality businesses. The workshop series, entitled Lunch and Learn: Marketing Tips for Tourism Businesses, will run consecutive Tuesdays beginning March 27th, from 12-1 via conference call and online conferencing tools.
Marketing is quickly evolving with the changes in the digital environment and the addition of social media. Tourism and hospitality business owners are already running their businesses day-to-day but may find that by attending these Lunch and Learn workshops, they can learn additional tips to assist them in making their advertising and marketing efforts more effective.
“I am incredibly proud that some of the county’s most well-respected advertising and marketing firms have agreed to do these sessions for our tourism industry,” said Ulster County Executive Mike Hein. “These cutting-edge companies work with a broad range of clients ranging from the American Museum of Natural History to local businesses such as The Emerson. These amazing professionals have helped get clients get on Oprah, The View with Barbara Walters and featured in the Wall Street Journal.”
The Lunch and Learns are scheduled as follows:
- Tuesday, March 27, 2012, 12-1 with Jim Edelstein of 33 Delivered on Social Media 101
- Tuesday, April 3, 2012, 12-1 with Ric Dragon of Dragon Search on Search Engine Optimization
- Tuesday, April 10, 2012, 12-1 with Josh Sommers of Focus Media on Getting Print Material Right
- Tuesday, April 17, 2012, 12-1 with Doug Motel on Getting There With Google
