Ulster County wins prestigious video awards
KINGSTON, NY (July 25, 2012) – Ulster County Executive Mike Hein is proud to announce that Ulster County’s Tourism Department’s innovative promotional videos have received two Telly Awards, one for excellence in “Internet/Online Programs” and a second for excellence in “Segments or Promotional Pieces in Travel Tourism.”
The “Things To Do” and “Places To Stay” videos, which were created in conjunction with the UlsterCountyAlive.com: Revitalizing Ulster County’s Tourism Economy campaign, were awarded 2012 Silver and Bronze Tellys, respectively. The Internet/Online Programs and Segments or Promotional Pieces in Travel/Tourism category targets online marketing pieces that utilize the Internet for branding and outreach efforts in the form of multimedia. The Silver Telly is the highest honor the organization presents.
“Ulster County’s informative, exciting online videos capture the essence of everything Ulster County has to offer tourists and I encourage everyone to visit UlsterCountyAlive.com and view them, said County Executive Mike Hein. “While Ulster County is best known for our pristine landscapes and lush views, Ulster County is also a center for arts, culture and delicious local foods in the Hudson River Valley. The winning videos exemplify all of the things that make Ulster County such a great place to live, work and visit.”
Founded in 1979, the Telly Awards honor excellence in film and video productions, groundbreaking online video content and outstanding local, regional and cable television commercials and programs from across the country. Entries are judged by a distinguished panel of past top award winners, who make up the Silver Telly Council. Judges evaluate entries to recognize distinction in creative work and score entries on a performance scale.
“We are extremely honored to receive this national award for our efforts to enhance the tourism industry here in Ulster County,” Hein said. “As a county that has a lot to offer in terms of recreation, lodging, dining, family fun and much more, it only makes sense for us to bolster the opportunities that exist here in our area for visitors. We look forward to continuing and expanding the Ulster County Alive! campaign in the future, and are pleased with the success we’ve had thus far.”
In addition to their award-winning videos, Ulster County Tourism also hosts a variety of additional exciting and informative films on its website, Ulster County Alive! To learn more, visit http://ulstercountyalive.com/.
