LIBERTY, N.Y. (June 25, 2019) – All of Liberty is gearing up to celebrate Independence Day, as the annual Liberty Fest – presented by the Greater Liberty Chamber of Commerce – is set to take place on Thursday, July 4 from 10:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. The event is free and features an array of family-friendly activities throughout the day, culminating in a fireworks display sponsored by the Town of Liberty.
Liberty’s 4th of July Parade steps off at 12:05 p.m. and will feature floats, marching bands, classic cars and more. Participants in the parade should report to the Liberty Elks Lodge parking lot at 11:30 a.m. for parade line-up. The fireworks display will commence at dusk. Prime spots for viewing include the Liberty Skate Park and Liberty Elks Club.
During the day, Main Street will be cordoned off as a pedestrian mall from the stoplight at the center of town to the stoplight adjacent the Liberty Public Library. There, visitors will be able to drop in on Liberty’s local businesses and stroll through an array of local and regional street vendors offering a variety of goods, food and beverages.
A children’s area will be set up in the former TD Bank parking lot with bouncy houses, face painting and other activities for kids. Another favorite year to year is the Liberty Fest Classic Car Show. It will be back in front of the Liberty Elementary School this year, with classic trucks, muscle cars and more on display.
The rain date for the 2019 Liberty Fest is Saturday, July 6, from 10:30 am until 4:30 pm.
