Local families are encouraged to come in costume and enjoy the floats and festivities.
LIBERTY, N.Y. (October 13, 2016) – The Town of Liberty’s annual Halloween Parade will take place Saturday, October 29. The parade will step off at 12:00 noon, and marchers and floats will journey down Main Street. The route will begin in front of the Elks Lodge and end at the Liberty Parks and Recreation parking lot.
There will be judging of floats and costumes prior to the parade, and awards will be handed out following the parade at the Liberty Main Street Stage. Bags, doughnuts, and cider will be given out to all children in costume.
“This is an annual event that families look forward to every October,” said Town of Liberty Parks and Recreation Director Brian Scardefield. “We encourage everyone to come out in costume to enjoy the festivities and maybe even win a prize!”
Following the parade, more events will take place at the Liberty Main Street Stage. Awards will be presented to contest winners for both the floats and costumes. There will be a Trunk or Treat sponsored by C.A.C.H.E. from 12:30 to 4:00 p.m. DJ Storm with music and games donated by Gossip Entertainment will provide atmosphere; and refreshments will include cider and cookies donated by ShopRite of Liberty.
A rain date for the parade is scheduled for Sunday, October 30 with lineup scheduled for 1:00 p.m. and step off scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
