Town of Liberty officials and Sullivan County Undersheriff come together to put an end to these incidences
LIBERTY, N.Y. (July 18, 2018) – Town of Liberty officials are continuing efforts to stop illegal dumping throughout the town after multiple reported incidences. Initiatives put in place several months ago include quick clean-up response and surveying of areas where illegal dumping is reported. The town also received approval for additional camera installments to help eliminate future illegal dumping cases.
Town of Liberty residents, police force, and government officials are working together to mitigate the occurrence of illegal dumping. After another instance earlier this month, Town of Liberty officials and Sullivan County Undersheriff Eric Chaboty are calling on local residents to report any cases of illegal dumping to the police. The latest incident led to the perpetrator being charged with a misdemeanor criminal offense that will be answerable in court.
“Our goal is to keep Liberty safe and clean. We ask all of our residents to keep an eye out and always contact the authorities if you see something,” said Town of Liberty Supervisor Brian P. Rourke. “We admire Town of Liberty residents’ dedication to keeping our beautiful town clean.”
Town of Liberty officials will continue to monitor illegal dumping as well as implement new initiatives to improve the town. If you have any questions please call 845-292-7690 or visit the Town of Liberty website: www.townofliberty.org.
