Range of projects shows The Ruby Group’s standards of excellence
GOSHEN, N.Y. (April 18, 2012) – The Ruby Group, a Goshen-based project management, general contracting and consulting firm, were honored with four awards from the Builders Association of the Hudson Valley for its projects throughout the Hudson Valley and beyond during its annual awards dinner April 10.
The Ruby Group won in the following categories: Best New Commercial Project; Best Commercial Renovation; Best Single-Family Home Under 2,500 Square Feet; and Historic Commercial Renovation of the Year.

Best New Commercial Project: The Ruby Group office, Goshen, N.Y. – New construction of The Ruby Group headquarters became mandatory after an extensive fire wreaked havoc on the office space during a winter blizzard in 2010, leaving nothing but the foundation as salvageable. The building features energy-saving measures throughout and the interior offices and common areas provide customers with a first-hand look at the quality and craftsmanship The Ruby Group has become known for providing in its commercial and residential projects.
Best Commercial Renovation: The Elan, Lodi, N.J. – The Ruby Group stepped in during the middle of the planning phase of this Design-Build project calling for structural modifications and interior renovations to modernize a 15,000-plus-square-foot catering and banquet facility. The centerpiece of the project is a dramatic, two-story atrium lobby and entry. Extensive interior renovations also included new electrical, lighting, floor coverings, wall coverings, hardwood dance floors and kitchen upgrades.
Best Single-Family Home Under 2,500 Square Feet: 73 Eagle View Drive, Glen Wild, N.Y. – The site use was carefully considered prior to the start of construction and the home was built with minimal disturbance to the site, while preserving as many of the original trees as possible. There is an expansive wrap-around porch and a turret creates unique interior spaces. This house was built using many green building practices. These include but are not limited to 95 percent recycling of waste products, sealed building envelope, and particular attention to indoor air quality and moisture management.
Historic Commercial Renovation of the Year: Brotherhood Winery, Washingtonville, N.Y. – Using The Ruby Group’s team of architects, engineers and managers the restoration of the 1850s storage building into a high-end catering facility was completed in October 2011. In the fall of last year, TRG obtained site plan approval for a 13,000-square-foot expansion of the winemaking facility and immediately broke ground. This project involved successful integration of the entire Design-Build process.
