GOSHEN, N.Y. (November 7, 2012) – The Ruby Group, a Goshen-based project management, general contracting and consulting firm, announced that it has hired Joseph M. Schlegel of Rock Tavern as a Junior Project Manager.
Schlegel is a lifelong resident of Orange County. He is a 2010 graduate of SUNY Orange, where he received his Associate of Applied Science in Architectural Technology, and a 2012 graduate of SUNY Delhi, where he received his Bachelor of Technology in Construction Management.
“It was important to The Ruby Group to hire someone with roots in the community. Joe represents the future of our community, we must develop job opportunities for our youth and make the Hudson Valley a place they can return to build a career,” said Pete Berman, CEO of The Ruby Group. “Our business continued to grow tremendously in 2012 and we were glad to be able to bring Joe on board full time.”
He interned for The Ruby Group during his junior year in spring 2011 and then was hired temporarily that summer and again during the winter break between the fall and spring 2012 semesters. He is currently a member of the 2013 class of Leadership Orange, which identifies current and emerging leaders and provides them with knowledge and skills to strengthen the communities and the county as a whole and inspire positive change. He has previous experience at Precision Pipeline Solutions of New Windsor and Platinum Enterprises Real Estate Investors of Rock Tavern.
“We are very familiar with Joe’s work ethic, his experience and his accomplishments having interned with us,” Berman said. “We look forward to all that Joe can do now as a permanent member of our team.”
Among his duties, Schlegel will assist in project management – including pre-construction planning, execution, quality control, documentation and problem-solving; estimating and budgeting; and communicating with clients, vendors and subcontractors on various projects.
