Nearly 50 attendees learn from women mentors
NEW WINDSOR, N.Y. (March 8, 2019) — The Accelerator, a business incubator focused on bringing manufacturing back to the mid-Hudson Valley, yesterday co-hosted a women’s roundtable titled, “Women Empowering Women.” The event, also sponsored by M&T Bank, took place at the Homewood Suites by Hilton Newburgh-Stewart Airport Hotel.
Attendees met mentors from a variety of backgrounds, including Melanie Richards (Increase Your Visibility), Mindy Kole (SUNY Ulster), Sandra Salguero (Superior Mortgage; Latinos in Business), Lauree Ostrofsky (Simply Leap; HV Women in Business) and Jan Wallen (Professional Consultant).
“The Hudson Valley is home to some incredible women entrepreneurs and thought leaders, and we are thrilled to gather a selection of them under one roof for this outstanding event,” said Laurie Villasuso, Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President, Orange County IDA and The Accelerator.
The event featured an interactive panel and networking session, focusing on topics such as finding the right mentor, how to market yourself, how to create a win-win relationship and how to improve at networking.
“We believe it is extremely important to provide women in the Hudson Valley with chances like these to network with and learn from like-minded women in the business world,” said Cynthia Marsh-Croll of the Women’s Enterprise Development Center. “We are grateful that The Accelerator co-hosted this event, and we look forward to partnering on similar types of events in the future.”
