MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. (May 04, 2018) – The Mount Vernon City School District and the Mount Vernon PTA Council will host the Superintendent’s Reading Challenge 2017-18 Fundraiser from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, May 21. It will be located at Barnes & Noble of Eastchester at the Vernon Hills Shopping Center, 680 Post Road, Scarsdale, NY 10583.
The Superintendent’s Reading Challenge has been very successful at encouraging students to read hundreds of thousands of books the past few years. There will be a special guest celebrity author, in addition to a silent auction of themed baskets, where a portion of the proceeds for all purchases will be donated to the Superintendent’s Reading Challenge. Proceeds will provide Nook Tablets and digital books for students to further support reading.
Tickets may be purchased in advance for $75 each or at the door for $100 each. Tickets are available at www.browpapertickets.com/event/3403774 and at the Board of Education office, 165 N. Columbus Ave., Mount Vernon, NY. Checks should be made payable to MV PTA Council.
