ORANGE COUNTY, N.Y. (June 9, 2022) – Summer is here and it’s time for Orange County N.Y.’s fairs and celebrations, which will have revelers looking to the sky for fireworks and fighter jets, to the stages for music of all kinds, and to days past, filled with knights, acrobats and entertainers.
“In summer, the thrills, the family fun and the entertainment in Orange County, N.Y., are endless!” said Amanda Dana, director of Orange County Tourism & Film. “The fairs and festivals here draw families and fans from throughout the region and beyond, all coming for spectacular times and to make treasured memories. From knights on horses to modern military aircraft, we have it all! Come for a full-day event, or make a weekend of it and stay in one of our charming bed & breakfasts!”

Great American Weekend 5k/10k Goshen Rotary Run Race
July 2, 2022, Race time: 8 a.m.
Orange County Government Center
255 Main Street, Goshen
Join one of the Goshen Rotary races – a 5k and a 10k – or cheer on runners. Both races start at the Government Center and end at the Surrogate Courthouse. The courses are certified by USA Track & Field.
Awards will be presented at the Surrogate Courthouse on Park Place to the top three overall males and females in the 5k and 10k events. Additional awards will be presented to the top three in each of nine age divisions.
The day is hosted by the Goshen Rotary Club. In line with the Rotary’s motto of “Service above Self,” the Goshen club says, “All race proceeds help us to help others.”

Orange County Fair

The 182nd annual Orange County Fair will follow the tradition of offering the best in family entertainment, local and national music, racing and auto events. Highlights include the monster trucks and amazing amusement rides.
After a year off, the fair is back and better than ever with a lineup of incredible tribute bands in a new amphitheater. Spectacular entertainment includes the Royal Hanneford Circus, The All-New Benjamin Jackson Comedy Hypnotist Show, and the hilarious Banana Derby.

Freedom Fest

Salute our veterans and first responders at this annual festival. Enjoy live music followed by fireworks at dusk, with synchronized patriotic music. Food and beverages will be available for purchase. Attendees may bring their own as well. No glass containers. Also, no pets, pop-up tents or sparklers.

New York Air Show
Aug. 27 and 28. 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Orange County Airport

The might of the U.S. Air Force will roar over Orange County Airport in a spectacular end-of-summer show of pride, power and patriotism. The AF Thunderbirds demonstration squadron headlines the popular event. Other highlights include the West Point Parachute Team, an L-39 Cold War-era jet demonstration, aerobatic national champion Michael Goulian, the Quicksilver P-51D Mustang and the B-25 Bomber “Panchito.”
On the ground, see aircrafts up close: a T-45 Goshawk airplane, a CH-53D Sea Stallion helicopter and a UH-72A Lakota helicopter.

The New York Renaissance Faire

Lords and ladies, serfs and vassals! The time has returned for mead, merriment and enormous roasted turkey legs! Come for shows that are hilarious, engaging and astounding, plus a variety of food. Sprawling across 65 acres, the grounds include a village with artisans selling their wares, an area for glassblowing demonstrations, several performance stages and a tiltyard for a daily climactic jousting contest during which you can cheer for your favorite knight.
Dog Days of Summer Music Festival

The music never stops at the Dog Days of Summer Music Festival, when five bands play, one after the other, from noon until 9 p.m. Enjoy County One, The Harrisons, One Man Gathering Trio, Tangent and Hillbilly Parade.
