With the hometown Yankees headed to the World Series, there are a variety of ways for businesses to capitalize on the excitement.
“Building stronger relationships with existing and potential clients is a key way to grow your company, and one way to do that is to have a viewing party of a World Series game,” says Josh Sommers, president of Focus Media, a marketing and business strategy firm in Goshen.
“Rent out a place and get together to celebrate the World Series with your existing and potential clients.”
Sommers also offers these tips to leverage what he calls “Yankee-mania:”
* Send your clients a Yankees hat special delivery from your company with a note from you saying “Enjoy the World Series.”
* Take your best client to a World Series game (it will cost big bucks, but it’s worth the investment).
* If you have a viewing party, have a drawing that night for two World Series tickets later in the series, opening day 2010 or the Yankees/Phillies rematch on June 15, 2010.
* Have a contest for your clients: Whoever’s the biggest Yankees fan wins a viewing party at his or her home. The clients must send in the reasons why they love the team. Your company picks the winner, gives them a 52 inch TV and catered food and beverages for the game.
* If you have a retail location, you can win new customers by holding a drawing there for World Series tickets.
