(March 18, 2015)—New York City SCORE is conducting a unique all day interactive, education and mentoring conference on March 25th, 2015, for New York Metropolitan Area small businesses at its Federal Plaza headquarters meeting rooms. The purpose of this second annual small business summit is to help the area’s businesses compete effectively in today’s challenging environment.
The 50-year-old volunteer non-profit mentoring organization, SCORE, is presenting the small business summit “Accelerating Small Business Growth” to Jump Start Your Business in 2015. The event will have eight interactive workshops on relevant topics and issues facing small businesses today. The conference will include talks by respected industry leaders and one-on-one mentoring opportunities for all attendees, conducted by 60 successful business professional members of SCORE.
Liz Hamburg, CEO/President, Taproot Foundation will present the keynote address, titled The Power to Transform Lives. The address will cover how mentoring and volunteering created meaning in her life and can help other businesses grow. Additional workshop topics include: How Technology is Creating New Business Opportunities, Funding Options for Your Business, Engaging Today’s Customers and Networking to Build Business Relationships.
Presenters include Rob Walsh, past New York City commissioner of small business; Ramon Ray, publisher of Smart Hustle Magazine, and technology evangelist for SmallBiz Technology & Infusionsoft; Andres Moran, co-founder and head of business development of Fundera; Michael Spadaro, founder and CEO of the IT consulting firm Profound Cloud; and Wendi Caplan-Carroll, area director-east of Constant Contact.
Registration is $69 for the all-day summit. Registration includes a continental breakfast, lunch and access to the speakers and small business mentors for confidential, one-on-one counseling.
