ROLLING V BUS CORP SOAP BOX DERBY DRIVER HEADED TO NATIONALS

Livingston Manor pupil wins Stock Division, headed to nationals in Ohio

South Fallsburg, N.Y. (June 27, 2012) – Rolling V Bus Corp., a Sullivan County-based bus transportation company, is proud to announce one of its sponsored Sullivan County Soap Box Derby drivers is going to nationals.

Evan Madison, 12, of Livingston Manor, representing Rolling V and the Livingston Manor Wildcats, won the Stock Division of the 1st Annual Sullivan County Soap Box Derby in May. As a result, he will compete at the 75th Annual All-American Soap Box Derby on Saturday, July 21 at Derby Downs in Akron, Ohio. The derby is an international competition with more than 600 entries.

“We’re extremely excited for Evan and the opportunity he has this summer,” said Ken Engle, Head of Safety & Training at Rolling V Bus Corp. “We’re so proud of him and wish him the best in Akron.”

Technology students from the Livingston Manor Central School District, along with advisor David Hubert, helped build both cars sponsored by Rolling V and assisted on race day.

Deborah L. Fox, Superintendent of the Livingston Manor Central School District, added, “We’re proud of our 6th and 7th graders who not only helped build several of the soap box derby cars, but even helped their competitors set up on race day. We’ve done our best to instill sportsmanship and teamwork into our students and their actions are surely recognizable. Good luck to Evan and his team!”

Phil Vallone, president at Rolling V, added, “Soap box derby racing is a time-honored tradition in the United States, and we’re happy to be a part of it. Both of our drivers did a great job in the local derby and we wish Evan safe driving and best of luck at nationals!”
