South Fallsburg, N.Y. (November 9, 2018) – Rolling V Bus Corp., a Catskill Region-based school bus transportation company, continues to support and salute veterans and first responders through ongoing company culture and recruitment efforts.
Of all Rolling V employees, nearly 15% are veterans and first responders. This military lineage is deep-rooted within the company’s ownership. Three members of the Vallone Family served honorably in the United States Marine Corps, Ed Vallone Sr., Ken Knudsen, and Phil Vallone Jr., as well as Ed Vallone Jr., who was an Air Force reservist. Along with ownership, Rolling V’s management team includes veterans Chris Reebe (U.S. Army) and Jorge Rosado (U.S. Marine Corps).
“Rolling V’s ongoing efforts to welcome veterans and first responders has created a company-wide atmosphere of acceptance and embracement,” said Rolling V President Phil Vallone. “Not only is this felt through the month of November, the national month to honor veterans, but it is felt year-round at Rolling V.”
One of the prideful practices of Rolling V employees and management is Red Shirt Fridays; a program created by a United States Marine Corp veteran, Lloyd (Doc) Hofmeister, urging people to wear red on Fridays to show support for our service men and women who are defending our freedom around the world. Rolling V’s dedication to this initiative is just one way in which they show support and respect to current and retired members of the military.
