RODDEY’S FUNDRAISING BRINGS IN $24,000

GOP opponent funds 40 percent from PACS

GOSHEN, N.Y. – Mayor of the Village of Goshen and candidate for the 99th Assembly District, Kyle Roddey, has seen his campaign gain continued momentum in past weeks, exceeding fundraising goals from both local and regional supporters.

With receipts totaling nearly $24,000, Roddey’s supporters are, by a large majority, both in-district and individual donors. The campaign’s dollars are made up of zero PAC donations—a true testament to Roddey’s local ties and commitment to better Orange and Rockland counties. The campaign has also been supported by two very successful fundraisers, each of which was attended by more than 70 individuals from across the District.

“The campaign has done incredibly well, and I’m extremely pleased with our teams efforts in fundraising, and more importantly, staying true to the causes I believe in most,” said Roddey. “While my opponents may have welcomed generous contributions from special interest groups, I’m proud to say that our accomplishments have been met through the help of hardworking taxpayers. The fact that I’ve received support from so many in-district voters is hopefully a sign of things to come.”

One such opponent, Colin Schmitt, has reportedly received nearly 40 percent of his campaign dollars from a PAC; in addition, at least 18 percent of his contributions were from out of state or out-of-district donors.

Roddey holds endorsements from the Orange County Conservative Party, Orange County Independence Party, Orange County Republican Party, as well as Sheriff Carl DuBois. His political career began as a trustee in the Village of Goshen before being elected Mayor in 2011. He has also been managing a small business for over four years and earned a master’s degree in education from Mt. St. Mary’s College in Newburgh.

Roddey’s campaign issues include property tax relief, improving New York’s business climate, and mandate relief to improve our schools and decrease the costs. District 99 is comprised of the Orange County towns of Goshen, Hamptonburgh, Wawayanda, New Windsor, Blooming Grove, Chester, Woodbury, Highlands and Stony Point in Rockland County.
