GOSHEN, N.Y. (Oct. 18, 2012) – Elant at Fishkill’s outdoor living areas received significant improvements from volunteers of the regional Kirchoff-Consigli Construction Management over the past several weeks. The project included a facelift of the facility’s two courtyards, walkways and other outdoor areas.
On Saturdays in September, volunteer employees from Kirchoff-Consigli Construction Management’s Action Community Team began a repair of Elant at Fishkill’s two exterior courtyards. These areas, which were in need of repairs, can now be utilized by residents to enjoy sun, shade, barbecues, gardening and other activities.
“Having outdoor space to spend time in is vital to our residents’ quality of life,” said Elant at Fishkill Administrator Michael Deyo. “We are so grateful that Kirchhoff-Consigli and their Action Community Team have volunteered their time and materials for the necessary improvements here at our campus. We are delighted with the work they’ve done and look forward to seeing our residents and their families spending time in the courtyards for many years to come.”
Repairs at the courtyards include replacement of missing or damaged fascia for the walkway canopies; carpentry repairs; concrete resurfacing for walkways; painting; as well as gardening, pruning, fall plantings and mulching for an impactful, finished look.
“We had a great time working to improve the courtyard areas at Elant’s Fishkill facility,” said Gordon Cruikshank, Operations Manager at Kirchoff-Consigli Construction Management. “Our Community Action team has been so impressed and humbled by the great work that the Elant staff delivers every day, and we are very happy to assist them in any way we can with the critically important community services they provide.”
