SUFFERN, N.Y. (August 30, 2012) – Ramapo Anesthesia (R.A.) is pleased to announce that effective August 23rd, Virginia Mims, MS LAc will be offering acupuncture services in their Suffern headquarters.

Ms. Mims earned a Master’s of Science in Oriental Medicine from Touro College and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Duke University. She is nationally board certified as a Diplomate in Oriental Medicine (acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine) by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, and holds New York State licenses in both Acupuncture and Massage Therapy.

Ms. Mims’ clinical education included training at the Touro College Acupuncture Clinic, as well as hospital internships at Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn, where she provided inpatient and outpatient services to the Labor & Delivery, Oncology, Chronic Pain, Neurology, Orthopedics and Rehabilitation, and Geriatrics departments.
In recognition of clinical and educational achievement, Ms. Mims was selected for apprenticeships with two master practitioners, under whom she received specialized training in women’s health, infertility, pain management, and gastroenterology. She has continued to expand her clinical skills with specialized advanced coursework in acupuncture for pregnancy and birth, infertility, orthopedic acupuncture and laser therapy.
R.A. has gained national recognition for its work, earning the coveted “Five Star Excellence Award” from Professional Research Consultants (PRC) for its superb anesthesia services. The practice was also recognized among the “top 1 percent of the Quality Assurance Programs in the country” by the Committee on Continuous Quality Improvement and Peer Review.
