(Middletown, NY) – Orange Regional Medical Center will host a free seminar “Aging Athlete: Strength Training” on Wednesday, September 11, at 5:30 p.m. at Orange Regional Medical Center, Ground Floor Conference Rooms 1, 2 and 3 at 707 East Main Street in Middletown, NY.
For those that are looking to stay healthy and strong, Eric Martin, MD, FAAOS, Chairman of the Orthopedics Department at Orange Regional Medical Center and aging athlete himself, will host a seminar to share insights from his unique combination of professional and personal insights about strength training. During the aging process, muscle mass naturally decreases, which can lead to a range of medical issues from the physical to the emotional. Strength training is a proven way to boost overall well-being, from enhancing longevity and increasing stamina, to maintaining mental acuity and preventing injury. His seminar will cover:
• The facts about aging and muscle loss.
• How to achieve longevity and vitality through strength training.
• The surprising connection between physical strength and mental health.
• How to work strength training into your everyday lifestyle.
• How staying strong protects us from accidents and injury.
Dr. Martin is Board-certified in orthopedics by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons. Dr. Martin earned his medical degree from New York University, completed both his general surgery internship and his Residency at the State University of New York (SUNY) at Stonybrook in addition to a reconstructive joint surgery Fellowship from Rush University/St. Luke’s Medical Center & Central DuPage Hospital.
