Middletown, NY- Barbara Place-Moreau, Licensed Practical Nurse, has been named Orange Regional’s 2010 Star of the Year. The All-Star Employee Recognition Program was created to acknowledge the outstanding performance of Orange Regional’s employees and volunteers for their positive impact on the quality of patient care services.
Barbara is a 29-year nursing professional who began working for the organization 17 years ago. Throughout her career, she has made quality patient care her number one priority and exemplifies Orange Regional’s mission to improve the health of our community by providing exceptional healthcare.
“Barbara is known for taking care of her patients as if they were members of her own family,” said Ann Diagostino, Tower 5 Nursing Director. “She provides excellent clinical care and customer service to all of her patients with compassion and skill.”
Barbara’s devotion to her patients is evident in all she does, often going above and beyond in many ways on a daily basis. She does not stop at providing quality clinical care. She realizes a patient’s overall wellbeing helps to further promote healing and recovery, ultimately providing overall patient satisfaction. Barbara has found that patients feel better when they are comfortable with their appearance. That’s why Barbara has gone the extra step to help some patients look their best by providing makeovers during their stay. Donating jewelry, a curling iron and make-up, as well as her time to assist in a makeover, truly touched one patient. Barbara’s ability to demonstrate genuine care and compassion and her skill for delivering quality clinical care is what earned her Orange Regional Medical Center’s 2010 Shooting Star Award.
“Barbara is a true patient advocate who gives exceptional care to her patients and is very supportive of her co-workers. She is kind and generous with her time and truly makes the patients she cares for feel special,” said Deborah Carr, Vice President of Human Resources says.
