Middletown, NY- Orange Regional Medical Center is pleased to announce the appointment of Ofer Jacobowitz, MD, PhD as Associate Medical Director of the Center for Sleep Medicine. In this role, Dr. Jacobowitz, an Otolaryngologist, will work closely with Dr. Alan Schaffer, Sleep Center Medical Director and Frank Salvatore, Director of Respiratory Services and the Center for Sleep Medicine, to oversee and develop sleep study- specific programs.
Dr. Jacobowitz is a seasoned clinician with more than 15 years experience in Otolaryngology. He is an active member of national sleep committees and task forces and served as Orange Regional’s Department Chairman of Otolaryngology from 2007-2010. Dr. Jacobowitz is a national speaker, author and editor of sleep publications and is a Partner with Hudson Valley Ear, Nose and Throat P.C. Dr. Jacobowitz completed his Medical School training at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, in New York and completed his residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center.

Sleep study services performed at Orange Regional’s Center for Sleep Medicine aid in the diagnosis of potential sleep disorders. A sleep study is a painless, non-invasive test that allows specially- trained technicians to monitor your breathing, heart rate, the oxygen levels in your blood, your eye movement, muscle tone and other factors. Sleep studies take place in our state-of-the-art facility and offer the latest diagnostic technology in a new and comfortable bedroom. The bedroom is equipped with individual temperature-controlled settings, a flat screen television and private bathroom, so our guests can be as relaxed as possible. A continental breakfast or lunch is also provided. The Center for Sleep Medicine also diagnoses pediatric patients five years of age and above and provides accommodations for parents.
The Center for Sleep Medicine has been relocated to a newly-constructed facility located at the Orange Regional Medical Pavilion, 75 Crystal Run Road, Suite G-22 in Middletown, New York. Orange Regional’s Center for Sleep Medicine is an accredited center of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.
