ORANGE COUNTY, N.Y. (Oct. 20, 2014) – Visitors traveling to the Hudson Valley for weekend leaf-peeping and festival fun can overnight at one of Orange County’s “Stay With Us” hotels.
“Visiting Orange County is not just a one-day adventure,” said Susan Hawvermale, Orange County Tourism director. “Staying overnight gives you an opportunity to have a true Orange County ‘experience,’ whether you’re looking at our glorious fall landscapes, picking pumpkins or apples, hiking, sampling great wines, or seeking out world-class shopping opportunities at Woodbury Common Premium Outlets or Sugar Loaf Craft Village.”
There are six “Stay With Us” lodging facilities:
The Historic Thayer Hotel at West Point, a celebrated part of American military history since 1926. The Thayer is a national historic treasure, visited by past U.S. presidents, international leaders, and celebrities. The hotel is a destination for expertly planned conferences, elegant weddings, or regional vacations.
The Bear Mountain Inn at Bear Mountain, with its historic heritage, offers a variety of lodging experiences within the park setting: the Inn itself, Overlook Lodge, and Stone Cottages. Diners have a choice of three farm-to-table restaurants, all with terrific views. Bear Mountain State Park is known for its hiking trails, including the famous Appalachian Trail.
The Comfort Inn and Suites in Goshen is centrally located in the heart of Orange County and offers a seasonal outdoor pool, free hot breakfast, and ample meeting space. It’s an easy drive to destinations like Sugar Loaf Craft Village, Woodbury Common Premium Outlets, and the New York Renaissance Faire.
The Hampton Inn in Middletown offers 127 rooms adjacent to four restaurants and convenience to all county events and activities. This gracious property is located near the shopping mecca of the area and is also conveniently located to museums, festivals, and recreation.
