Walden, N.Y. (January 22, 2013) – The Orange County Rural Development Advisory Corporation (RDAC) will mark 30 years of serving the community with an Anniversary Cocktail Reception at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 20 at Brotherhood Winery. At the Reception, RDAC will honor Larry and Ken Regan and Walden Savings Bank with the prestigious Alice Dickinson Legacy Award.
“We are so excited to recognize our very special honorees with the inaugural Alice Dickinson Legacy Award,” said Faith Piatt, Executive Director of Orange County RDAC. “Larry and Ken Regan have co-developed more than 275 affordable housing units with RDAC, and their work has been tremendous. Walden Savings Bank has supported every effort that we have made to provide financial literacy and foreclosure prevention to the community, and very eagerly was the first bank to sign on to RDAC’s ‘3000 Ways to Sustain’ campaign. We are grateful to have these honorees as partners; without them, RDAC wouldn’t be the organization it is today.”
The Alice Dickinson Legacy Award was established in memory of RDAC’s Co-Founder and Executive Director for nearly 29 years. During her tenure as Executive Director, Dickinson developed new construction, adaptive reuse and historic preservation single- and multi-family housing projects totaling $90 million; those projects promoted and preserved sustainable housing and enhanced community preservation and revitalization. Recipients of the Alice Dickinson Legacy Award embody Dickinson’s passion and devotion not only to RDAC, but also to the community at large.
Tickets to the Anniversary Cocktail Reception are $75 and include wine, a variety of locally-grown foods, entertainment, silent auction and a cash raffle. A variety of sponsorship opportunities are still available. For additional information, contact Faith Piatt at 845.713.4568 or faithpiatt@ocrdac.org
