ORANGE COUNTY OFFICE FOR THE AGING ADVISORY BOARD APPOINTS SANDFORD R. ALTMAN AND REAPPOINTS MARK A. KROHN

Walden, N.Y. (March 13, 2013) – Jacobowitz & Gubits is pleased to announce that Sanford R. Altman has been appointed and Mark A. Krohn has been reappointed to the Orange County Office for the Aging Advisory Board.

Mr. Krohn, a Partner at Jacobowitz & Gubits, is in charge of the Business Law Team and is a member of the Trust and Estates Team. His primary practice has been devoted to corporate, tax and estate matters. He has been an advocate for senior citizens since 1990 and is a member of the Legal Service Network for the American Association for Retired Persons (AARP).

Mr. Altman is Senior Counsel at Jacobowitz & Gubits with the Business, Trust and Estates team. He has been practicing in Orange County for over 25 years and specializes in the areas of elder law, estate planning, business law, and probate and estate administration. Mr. Altman is a member of the Legal Service Network for the AARP, Chairman of the Town of Montgomery Seniors Independence Project, member of the Adult Protective Services Task Force and member of the Alzheimer’s Association Advisory Council.

The Orange County Office for the Aging is an organization committed to meeting the needs of Orange County’s senior population as well as the needs of the family and friends who care for them. The Office works to maintain the dignity, wellbeing and independence of senior citizens in the community.

Mr. Krohn received his juris doctorate from Pace University School of Law and a bachelor of the arts from University of South Florida in business, where he graduated with honors. He is a member of the New York and Florida State Bar Associations, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Orange County Bar Association, and the Hudson Valley Estate Planning Council. He was admitted to the New York State and Florida Bar in 1986.

Mr. Altman received a juris doctorate from New York Law School and a bachelor of the arts in philosophy from Binghamton University. He is a member of the New York Bar Association’s Elder Law and Trust and Estates Sections, the Orange County Bar Association, and is a former President of the Middletown Bar Association. He received the New York State Independent Living for Older New Yorkers Award in 2008. He was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1980 and to the Florida Bar in 1987.
