New Positions – Chair Elect, Vice Chair – Create Effective Succession Process
MAYBROOK, N.Y. (Sept. 27, 2022) – The Orange County Chamber of Commerce has updated its bylaws to establish a smoother succession process when leadership of the organization changes.
The Chamber’s new rules add the positions of chairperson elect and vice chairperson to the roster of officers. They join the chairperson, past chairperson, treasurer and secretary as Chamber officers. Two at-large positions were removed.
The Board of Directors have elected the following officers:
- Chair Elect, Jean Sexton, Branch Manager of Walden Savings Bank
- Vice Chair, Donna Conklin, Owner and Operator of Pattycake Playhouse
- Past Chair, Marcel Martino, Vice President of Community Relations of ADAPT of the Hudson Valley
“The new structure creates reliable stability when a transfer of leadership occurs, and ensures continuity in our Chamber of Commerce’s vital services to the businesses and commercial life of our county,” said Eric Maldonado, Chairman of the Board of Directors. “The officers elected to these positions are pillars of our business community who will ensure that the board continues to provide the Chamber with exceptional leadership.”
“Strong, consistent leadership is the key to helping the Orange County business community thrive,” said Heather Bell-Meyer, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Chamber. “With this update in our bylaws, we have ensured that such leadership will continue without interruption.”
