ORANGE COUNTY BUSINESS ACCELERATOR SELECTS FOCUS MEDIA AS AGENCY OF RECORD
Goshen advertising and public relations firm to brand and market new business incubator
New Windsor, N.Y. – September 29, 2009 – Orange County Business Accelerator (OCBA) Managing Director Michael J. DiTullo today announced the selection of Focus Media, Inc. as the incubator program’s advertising and public relations agency of record.
Focus Media, an eight-person agency owned by company president and CEO Josh Sommers, is a full-service strategic communications firm with core competencies in public relations, branding, advertising, Web development and market research. Clients Focus Media represent include Walden Savings Bank, Monticello Casino & Raceway, Verticon LTD, Brookfield Resource Management, Catskill Regional Medical Center, Black Creek Holdings and JP Packaging.
Focus Media has started development of a Web site, as well as design of a logo and collateral materials. The firm will also be providing OCBA with on-going marketing, advertising, and public relations strategies to attract entrepreneurs and raise overall awareness of the program.
“We interviewed a number of agencies and Focus Media stood out from the rest,” said DiTullo. “We needed a full-service agency, with an economic development background, that could manage all marketing touch points.”

Sommers, whose had offices in Monticello since founding the company in 2002, expanded with a second office in Goshen in July. He stated, “We are looking forward to working with Mike and his team to create compelling messages and advertising, along with a strong presence in the news media and on the Web, that will attract the types of businesses which create new sustainable jobs and opportunities.”

OCBA, located at 4 London Avenue in New Windsor on the grounds of Stewart International Airport, is a business incubator program launched by the Orange County Industrial Development Agency (IDA). The incubator, 10,000 square feet of class-A high-tech and research and development space, is designed to attract new entrepreneurial investment by providing businesses with below market occupancy costs, a menu of mentoring programs and a high-tech, plug-and-play office environment.
