NEWBURGH BREWING COMPANY JOINS HUDSON VALLEY FOOD & BEVERAGE ALLIANCE

Craft brewery becomes a founding member of organization

NEWBURGH, N.Y. (May 16, 2012) – Newburgh Brewing Company, a traditional-style craft brewery located in the industrious Hudson Valley region, has joined the Hudson Valley Food & Beverage Alliance as a founding member.

Newburgh Brewing Company prides itself on “Brewing with Heart,” a motto that signifies its passion for brewing great beer and providing beer drinkers of the Hudson Valley with a locally crafted, unique beer. The company uses natural ingredients and traditional brewing styles to create a “sessionable” beer — one that can be enjoyed over an extended period of time with friends and good company.

The brewery is joining the Food & Beverage Alliance to bring its well-known name and earnest philosophy to a group that is already rich in renowned organizations in the region.

“At Newburgh Brewing, we are excited to join the Hudson Valley Food & Beverage Alliance,” said Paul Halayko, President of Newburgh Brewing Company. “Synergies amongst companies in the same industry can only be achieved through cooperation, and the Alliance provides a perfect forum for that cooperation to take place. As the ‘new kid on the block,’ we have a great deal to learn, and there are some great companies in the Alliance that we are eager to learn from. By creating relationships with Hudson Valley food and beverage companies, we can strive to improve our own business, the business of our partners and the overall economic strength of the region.”

The Food & Beverage Alliance focuses on helping food and beverage companies in the area work together as strong partners and market their products all over the United States. Launched by the Hudson Valley Economic Development Corp. (HVEDC), the organization includes food businesses, farmers, vegetable growers, beverage makers, distributors and other organizations in the industry.

Along with its reputable brews and good-natured business representation, Newburgh Brewing Company is also well known for its taproom, where visitors can enjoy Newburgh beer and a selection of local wines.

“The positive name and reputation that the Newburgh Brewery has made for itself and is now bringing to the Alliance is a great asset to our cause,” said Mike Oates, President and CEO of the HVEDC. “We welcome this model business to the Food & Beverage Alliance as we strive to maintain the unique reputation that organizations like Newburgh Brewing Company have built through hard work and dedication.”

“I’d like to extend my congratulations to Chris Basso and Paul Halayko on the grand opening of Newburgh Brewing Company,” Orange County Executive Edward A. Diana said. “It gives me a great sense of pride in Orange County when local graduates are able to return to our community and make a name for themselves. I wish Chris and Paul much success. They are off to a great start, and joining the Hudson Valley Food & Beverage Alliance is another step in the right direction. As members of the Alliance they will be able to share their experiences as they grow Newburgh Brewing Company and benefit from the knowledge and expertise of their fellow Alliance members – it’s truly a winning partnership.”
