NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. (Dec. 7, 2016) – The City School District of New Rochelle has appointed Tilsa Rodriguez-Gonzalez as the new Supervisor of Physical Education and Health, Pre-K-12th grade. The Board of Education approved the appointment of Mrs. Rodriguez-Gonzalez at its meeting last night.
Mrs. Rodriguez-Gonzalez has been an educator for 20 years, both as a health and physical education teacher and as an administrator, and is currently a teacher in the New York City Department of Education.
“She is pleased to be returning to her roots of physical education and health,” Superintendent Dr. Brian Osborne said. “Her desire to see all children learn to love being active makes her an excellent choice for this discipline, and for our district.”
Mrs. Rodriguez-Gonzalez received a bachelor’s degree in education from Manhattan College and a master’s degree in education in exercise science from Queens College.
“I am thrilled to be joining the City School District of New Rochelle as its new Supervisor of Physical Education and Health,” Rodriguez-Gonzalez said. “I am looking forward to working with each school because not only is activity important to the physical health of children but it is also integral to creating confidence and self-esteem. This growth helps students tremendously in the classroom.”
She will join the district on Jan. 10, 2017.
