NEBRASKY PLUMBING, HEATING & COOLING GOES GREEN WITH NEBRASKY ENERGY

MONROE, N.Y.  (June 28, 2012) –– Nebrasky Plumbing, Heating & Cooling (Nebrasky) announced today that it has established Nebrasky Energy, a division of the organization committed to assessing energy usage and developing conservation methods for both residential and commercial properties.

Nebrasky Energy has a team of professionals certified by the Building Performance Institute Inc. (BPI), the nation’s premier standards development and accreditation organization for residential energy retrofit work. Nebrasky saw the opportunity to save his customers money and make them more comfortable by offering these comprehensive whole-home/building energy assessments, said Paul Nebrasky, owner of Nebrasky Plumbing, Heating & Cooling.

“In our continuing effort to bring the best service to our clients, this division will allow us to address their whole home, optimizing their comfort and reducing their energy costs,” Nebrasky said.

All members of the Nebrasky team are trained in energy assessment and the division will be led by newly appointed Home Assessment Specialist Rob Van Harlingen. He is not only trained and certified to conduct home energy assessments, but he also has more than 25 years of diverse experience as a building analyst, weatherization auditor and home energy analyst.

The Nebrasky Energy team of professionals takes a focused approach to home assessments.  They not only utilize standardized tools and tests such as a blower door test and thermographic imaging, but they also conduct a short interview with the homeowner, asking:

  • Is anyone home during work hours?
  • What is the average thermostat setting for each season?
  • How many people live in the building?
  • Is every room in use?
  • Are there efficient appliances and heating/cooling systems?

Questions like these will help identify lifestyle and energy consumption patterns that when combined with utility bill analysis can translate into a coherent plan to improve comfort and reduce energy costs.

Local homeowners may be eligible for a free or reduced cost comprehensive home energy assessment offered by NYSERDA (New York State Energy Research & Development Authority), In Orange County, if a homeowner’s income is equal to or less than $174,000, the assessment is free.
