MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. (Sept. 8, 2017) —– The Mount Vernon Star Scholars Program will host a fundraiser on Thursday, Sept. 14 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Siwanoy Country Club on 351 Pondfield Rd. in Bronxville.
The Mount Vernon Stars Scholar Program is a non-profit mentoring program designed to assist a group of academically-talented students who attend Mount Vernon high schools to gain admission to selective U.S. colleges and universities.
“This program is yet another reaffirmation of how our community understands and supports the work our teachers and staff do every day to make our students college ready,” said Superintendent Dr. Kenneth R. Hamilton. “This deserving group of academically-talented students tremendously benefit from this program and we are grateful to all who support it.”
The Mount Vernon Star Scholars Board of Directors and Planning Committee are: Bill Adams, Sheridan Denfeld, Anne Fink, Jim Keating, Darcy Miller, Norm Savoie and Teresa Weber.
“Valedictorian” tickets are $150 each and include two raffle tickets; “Salutatorian” tickets are $100 each. Attire is “smart casual,” excluding blue denim.
