Former Associate Superintendent of Human Resources assumes new leadership position
MOUNT VERNON, N.Y. (August 6, 2018) — Mount Vernon City School District recently announced the appointment of Dr. Jackielyn Manning Campbell, the former Associate Superintendent for Human Resources, to a new leadership position. In July 2018, Dr. Manning Campbell began her new role as the District’s Associate Superintendent for Student Support Services.
“This position was created to help fulfill the goal of providing critical and consistent support to the community as outlined in our 20/20 Vision,” said Mount Vernon City School District Superintendent Dr. Kenneth R. Hamilton. “Dr. Manning Campbell will foster greater relationships with all stakeholders by ensuring consistent communication and transparency. She has already proven herself as an invaluable faculty member with the District and we look forward to her success in this new role.”
“My vision for this role is to ensure that we’re being good stewards to the community,” said Dr. Manning Campbell. “This stewardship involves the demonstration of financial responsibility as well as ensuring all students’ needs are met. I also hope to provide parents with an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of how our partnership is beneficial to continued student growth.”
As the Associate Superintendent of Student Support Services, Dr. Manning Campbell’s primary objectives include helping parents and students navigate the world of public education. Her responsibilities include student advocacy, managing social and emotional needs, and creating safe and supportive spaces for student learners. This is done through a network of key staff including school counselors and administration throughout the District.
Dr. Manning Campbell states, “We are an integral partner with the families from the time a student enters our educational system through graduation, inclusive of college and career pathways for success.”
Dr. Manning Campbell has been a faculty member of the Mount Vernon City School District since 2004 and has served in a variety of educational, administrative and leadership roles. Her background spans the entire education spectrum, with experience teaching and providing administrative leadership in elementary, middle, high school and higher education. She currently serves as a committee member for doctoral students at St. John Fisher College, her alma mater. She also serves as an executive coach for doctoral students at the Esteves School of Education at The Sage Colleges.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in Health Services Administration and a master’s degree in Elementary Education from Lehman College, a second master’s degree in Supervision and Administration from Mercy College, and a doctoral degree in Executive Leadership from St. John Fisher College.
