MONTICELLO, N.Y. (May 2, 2011) – Monticello Motor Club’s partners Ari Straus, president, and Bill McMichael, club chairman, were honored as the Pride of Thompson during The Sullivan County Chamber of Commerce’s 20th Annual Recognition of Excellence in Business and Community Involvement on Sunday, May 1, 2011
The nomination by Town of Thompson Supervisor Tony Cellini honored the Motor Club’s investment in the community and dedication to economic development and support of area not-for-profits with this recognition.
“We are proud to have one of the world’s premier motorsports country club located in the Town of Thompson,” explained Cellini, “and we thank Bill, Ari and the Monticello Motor Club for investing over $40 million dollars in our community.”
Straus said, “We are honored to accept this recognition. Our vision is for MMC to be a positive force that will help bring Sullivan County back to the vibrant community I recall from my childhood summers, fueled by jobs, tourists and progressive industry.”
Launched in July 2008, Monticello Motor Club is North America’s Premier Automotive Resort & Private Race Track dedicated to automotive enthusiasts located just 90 minutes from Manhattan.
