NEW WINDSOR, N.Y. (August 9, 2019) — Mobile Life Support Services, the largest emergency medical service provider in the Hudson Valley, recently provided standby EMS support for cities and towns across the region during their annual National Night Out Against Crime, including the City of Newburgh, City of Poughkeepsie, City of Middletown and Town of Wallkill. This year, the events were held on Tuesday, August 6, 2019.
National Night Out is a community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships. First launched in 1984, the annual event culminates on the first Tuesday in August. The inaugural National Night Out involved 2.5 million neighbors across 400 communities in 23 states. It has since grown to be a celebration where neighborhoods across the country host block parties, festivals, parades, cookouts and various other community events with safety demonstrations, seminars, youth events, visits from emergency personnel, exhibits and more.
Mobile Life provides emergency medical services at a variety of community events throughout the Hudson Valley. The company offers onsite emergency medical care which can be tailored to the individual event’s needs and requirements, from a medical tent with cots, cooling stations, ice, IV fluids, water, oxygen, first aid and more, to specialty vehicles such as an ATV (All-Terrain Vehicle), golf cart, multi passenger vehicle, an EMT/paramedic bicycle team and, the company’s newest addition to the Special Operations Fleet, the ROC (Remote Operations Center).
In addition to providing EMS support, Mobile Life enjoys every opportunity to interact with the community. Similar to the Teddy Bear Clinics and Touch-A-Truck events that the company participates in throughout the Hudson Valley, Mobile Life crews offer young eventgoers the opportunity to explore the company’s ambulances, try out equipment and ask questions, which brings them some familiarity and comfort should they or a loved one ever need emergency medical services.
Mobile Life currently operates 26 stations across the region and an ambulance fleet composed of more than 60 vehicles, which are strategically dispersed throughout the Hudson Valley, including Dutchess, Orange, Rockland, Ulster and Westchester counties. The company also serves as the designated 911-EMS Agency for more than a dozen municipalities, including Newburgh, Middletown, Kingston and Poughkeepsie, and provides emergent and nonemergent ambulance transportation services to most of the 14 hospitals in its service region.
