Goshen, N.Y. (July 31, 2013) – Mobile Life Support Services, the Hudson Valley’s largest emergency medical services (EMS) agency, has stepped up in a major way to support two of Elant’s key fundraising events. In addition to being a sponsor of the 6th Annual Elant Golf Classic and 12th Annual Elant Polo Picnic, Mobile Life Chief Financial Officer Tim Scannell and Director of Development Andy LaMarca have been named Chairs of the Golf Classic and Polo Picnic, respectively.
Mobile Life Support Services, also a 2013 Elant Foundation Community Sponsor, is a New York State Certified Advanced Life Support Paramedic Ambulance Service that serves communities and health care facilities throughout the Hudson Valley. With more than 50 ambulances and emergency response vehicles, 24 stations and more than 400 dedicated EMS professionals, Mobile Life is the largest EMS agency in the Hudson Valley. The organization has supported Elant in a variety of ways, including regularly attending fundraising events, providing volunteer EMS at Elant events and collaborating on training for Elant staff.
“We are so grateful to Tim, Andy and the entire Mobile Life family for their ever-present dedication to our community and their strong contributions to our organization,” said Melissa McCoy, Director of Corporate Initiatives for Elant Foundation. “Both golf and polo outings are Elant’s principle fundraising events each year, and the support we receive from our chairs, committees and sponsors is vital in providing a greater quality of life for all our residents. We truly could not do it without them.”
The 6th Annual Elant Golf Classic took place on Thursday, July 25 at a new location – Trump National Golf Club in Hopewell Junction – and raised more than $43,000. The day began with registration, and then Elant residents joined golfers for putting and lunch on the patio. Golfing commenced at 1 p.m. with a shotgun start. A cocktail hour, as well as dinner and awards ceremony concluded evening. Mark Fellenzer, Ray Van Voorhis, Paul Hoffner and James Feraca were the members of the winning foursome that took home the first place trophy. The event also featured a number of on-course and post-course specialties and prizes, and offered those who were not able to attend a chance to participate in virtual golfing and an online auction.
The 12th Annual Elant Polo Picnic will once again be held at the Blue Sky Polo Club in Middletown. The always-elegant affair will take place on Sunday, September 8 from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and will feature fine dining, a champagne toast, auction, divot stomp and of course, fabulous hats to top it all off. Additionally, Elant will honor Flo Hannes of SUNY Orange and the American Cancer Society – Eastern Division for their leadership, commitment and dedication to Elant and to the community at large.
Proceeds from both events will benefit the two-year fundraising campaign, “The New Elant Dining Experience,” which will revolutionize the residential dining experience at all Elant locations. The new dining experience has already been implemented at Elant at Goshen and Elant at Meadow Hill, and plans are underway to begin dining enhancements in Wappingers Falls and Fishkill. Improvements are set to include an array of menu selections for each course, personalized tableside care and a new, restaurant-style environment where residents can share the experience with family and friends.
Guests have a variety of opportunities to contribute to the Polo Picnic and to support the Elant Foundation annual campaign, including several levels of event sponsorships. To learn more, contact the Elant Foundation at 845-360-1410 or elantfoundation@elant.org.
