WHAT: Presentation about the Vision of the Future of Mount Vernon Schools

The Northeast Roundtable, a community group comprised of neighborhood associations from Northeast Mount Vernon, is sponsoring a presentation by Mount Vernon City Schools Superintendent Dr. Kenneth R. Hamilton. Attendees will hear Dr. Hamilton’s “academic vision” for the district. Dr. Hamilton’s goal is to create enhanced educational programs within a rejuvenated school system. His vision includes plans for a district-wide pre-k “early learning center” and schools for students in kindergarten through grade eight. Additional plans include turning the district’s high schools into “centers of excellence” and new athletic fields and play areas for students.
