ORANGE COUNTY, N.Y. (Nov. 17, 2022) – Orange County, N.Y., is the ideal Thanksgiving Weekend destination to prepare for your feast at home, celebrate afterward and to finish with a family 5K Turkey Trot to burn off the sumptuous T-day meal and leftovers.

Thanksgiving Centerpiece Making Class at Winding Hills Golf Club: The Venue at Winding Hills, Montgomery; Join the annual class hosted by De Ja Vu and the Venue at Winding Hills to create a centerpiece that will liven up any Thanksgiving table, whether you’re hosting or visiting loved ones. It takes place Nov. 20, noon – 3 p.m. The $70-per-person cost includes supplies – and lunch! Cash bar also is available.

Friendsgiving at Drowned Lands Brewery, 251 State School Road, Warwick: Drowned Lands Brewery’s twist on modern tradition is to share their taps with some of their favorite brewers. Nov. 23, 4 p.m. – 10 p.m. Come raise a glass and taste the craft in beers by the Drowned Lands crew as well as by their friends and fellow brewers.

Thanksgiving Eve at Tin Barn Brewing, 62 Kings Highway Bypass, Sugar Loaf: Come for a night-before-T-Day party, featuring live music from the Orange County-based band Hudson Blue. Nov. 23, 5 p.m. – 8 p.m.

Black Dirt Friday at Drowned Lands Brewery, 251 State School Road, Warwick: The brewery hosts its version of the traditional Black Friday shopping day with special prices and deals on beer and merchandise. Nov. 25, 4 p.m. – 10 p.m.

Family 5K Turkey Trot at Smith’s Clove Park, 133 Smith St., Monroe: The 31st annual Turkey Trot begins at 9 a.m. Sat., Nov. 26, in Smith’s Clove Park. Run or walk the 5K course through downtown Monroe, then along a scenic wooded stretch back to the park for an awards ceremony, a light snack and refreshments. Registration is 7:45 a.m. – 8:45 a.m. the day of the race. The cost is $25 per adults, $15 for students and $50 for a family of one adult with two or more children. (Lower costs for applications postmarked by Nov. 18.) Active military personnel participate free.
