Independence Day happenings span two weekends and include the New York Air Show.
ORANGE COUNTY, N.Y. (June 13, 2017) Visitors to Orange County, N.Y. will have to look up to take in all July has to offer. From festivals with fireworks to the New York Air Show, the sky’s the limit when it comes to summer fun in the Hudson Valley! And this year, July 4th events span the weekend before and after the official holiday making for twice the enjoyment.
“From fireworks to fighter jets, it’s going to be a spectacular weekend celebrating Independence Day here in Orange County, said Orange County Tourism Director Susan Hawvermale. “There will be warm breezes, blue skies, and hats off to our great nation!”
Some 4th of July events sure to get visitors in the patriotic spirit are:
Great American Weekend: Saturday, July 1, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday, July 2, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Church Park in Goshen. Kick off grand circuit racing season at the world’s oldest active harness racing track. New York Air Show: Saturday, July 1, 2017 and Sunday, July 2, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Stewart International Airport. U.S. Navy Blue Angels will headline the event which will also feature a flight performance of the F-35 Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter and the West Point Parachute Team. Independence Day Celebration: Tuesday, July 4, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at
New Windsor Cantonment State Historic Site. A military drill and cannon firing at 2:00 p.m., followed by a children’s musket drill. Independence Day Celebration with the West Point Band: Saturday, July 8, 2017 from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m., the West Point Band celebrates our nation’s Independence Day at Trophy Point. The performance will conclude with a fireworks show.
