GOSHEN, N.Y. (Sept. 26, 2016) – The LEGOLAND® New York Community Welcome Center is one step closer to opening with the announcement of its location at 6 N. Church St. in Goshen.
LEGOLAND officials expect the center to open within the next two months, giving people the opportunity to stop by and learn more about the proposed park’s plans.
“We made a commitment to be transparent in everything we do as the review process for the proposed park continues,” said Phil Royle, LEGOLAND New York’s head of community & project relations. “Our welcome center will give everyone a place to come to ask questions and learn more about our park plans. We want people to understand all aspects of how we will operate this park and see that we are 100 percent committed to be an exceptional, environmentally conscious and positively impactful neighbor in Goshen and Orange County.”
The growing grassroots movement which supports the proposed park also feels the community welcome center will be extremely beneficial.
“We need this in order to spread the facts,” said Carol Cullen of Goshen, one of the representatives of the “Welcome LEGOLAND” movement. “There’s been so much misrepresentation and fabricated ideas, the welcome center will be able to spread accurate information and I’m all for that.”
Cullen added: “Wanting LEGOLAND to come into our area isn’t just about satisfying the needs of kids. It’s about economic growth for our community, about bringing in a good, clean business. There’s going to be a lot of huge economic benefits. My interest is in Goshen and having Goshen survive and being a place where people will come to and live.”
Hours of operation will be announced at the same time the opening date is firmly established.
