Money raised from the event will support Catholic education in Dutchess County
POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. (Oct. 11, 2017) – LCS Facility Group, the area’s most experienced and largest provider of facilities solutions in the Hudson Valley, sponsored the inaugural Dutchess County Archdiocese Gala. LCS Facility Group Owner Joe Lepore and Human Resource Director Angela Gervino are both Dutchess County Archdiocese board members.
The gala, held Sept. 22 at Eighteen by Coppola’s in James Baird State Park, raised significant funds for the Dutchess County Archdiocese to support faith-based education.
“LCS is committed to being an active member of the community,” said Lepore. “To be able to help plan, run and sponsor this event, which honors such wonderful people and a fabulous organization, is gratifying. The funds raised will allow the Dutchess County Archdiocese to continue to provide outstanding Catholic education in Dutchess County.”
Honored at the event were Catherine Merryman, Our Lady of Lourdes High School principal; and Luigi and Lisa Coppola, founders of the Claudio Cares Foundation and the Claudio Cares Foundation.
Our Lady of Lourdes High School offers a rigorous college preparatory education to a diverse student population. The school’s campus, located in Poughkeepsie, offers students in grades 9 through 12 an academic experience dedicated to “Sanctitas et Scientia” — “Holiness and Knowledge.” Lourdes focuses on educating the “whole” student spiritually, intellectually, physically and emotionally. The college prep curriculum features Honors, AP and college level courses, and integrates academics with technology in its “next generation” classrooms.
The Claudio Cares Foundation honors the memory of Claudio Coppola, who died in a single vehicle accident on Nov. 9, 2012. Its mission is to inspire breakthroughs in the way the world treats young adults, to achieve immediate and lasting changes in their lives and in the lives of others by embodying the spirit of Claudio Coppola. It seeks to help and reward those individuals who have the leadership, selflessness, athletic, artistic and academic qualities he exuded.
