NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. (July 13, 2021) – Jonathan P. Raymond has officially assumed his role as Superintendent of the City School District of New Rochelle and will attend his first New Rochelle Board of Education meeting tonight.
The meeting, which will mark Raymond’s first public appearance, will start at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall, 515 North Ave. The meeting, in the Board Room, also will be viewable via Zoom at https://zoom.us/j/98042262598.
Board of Education President Julia Muggia Ochs swore in Raymond on Monday. He was hired by the Board of Education on May 26, 2021.
Raymond joins New Rochelle after serving as the Executive Director of the Massachusetts COVID-19 Relief Fund. He brings insights from many years of experience in education, including as Chief Accountability Officer of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School system in North Carolina, and as Superintendent of the Sacramento City Unified School District in California.
Raymond said he is committed to being supportive of the whole child and engaging with the community by listening and learning. He emphasized the importance of building relationships that become the foundation of the District’s vision and action plan. Every decision, he said, will be made with children’s best interests in mind.
