Walden, N.Y. (October 2012) – Gerald and Marlene Jacobowitz have been honored for their work on behalf of the local community by the Jewish Federation of Greater Orange County.
Mr. Jacobowitz, a senior partner with Jacobowitz & Gubits, LLP, has served the local community for years as president of the Community Foundation of Orange & Sullivan, and as director of the Walden Local Development Corp. and the Meyer & Lillian Jacobowitz Foundation. He has been a member of the Orange County Planning Board for more than 12 years.
“Marlene and I are extremely honored to receive recognition from the Jewish Federation and are proud of the support and sense of community we’ve established here in Orange County,” said Gerald Jacobowitz. “Community involvement is very important to us. Since it is where we live and work. It is a way to give back.”
Mr. Jacobowitz has also been a board member of the Orange County Citizens Foundation and is the longest serving director of Hometown Bank of the Hudson Valley. Additionally, he is the former president and director of the Orange County Bar Association and chairman of the Municipal Law Section of the New York State Bar Association.
Mr. and Mrs. Jacobowitz, as well as everyone at the firm, have committed their time, energy and talent to numerous community organizations throughout the region.
The Jewish Federation of Greater Orange County works with community members to enrich people’s lives, help those in need, and embrace new families in the community.
