INAUGURAL HUDSON VALLEY MARKETING CONFERENCE FOR NONPROFITS SCHEDULED FOR NOV. 15

GOSHEN, N.Y. (Oct. 2, 2012) – Calling all nonprofit organizations! If you are interested in learning more about cutting-edge marketing and how to raise more money, come to the 2012 Hudson Valley Marketing Conference for Nonprofits.

Focus Media, Inc., a full-service advertising and public relations firm serving the Hudson Valley, is presenting the event, which is planned for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 15, at Anthony’s Pier 9 in New Windsor. The day is free and includes marketing ideas specifically for nonprofits, such as developing and implementing strategies on a small budget, leveraging leads and fundraising. Meals and networking are included.

Sommers said there will be no gimmicks, strings or sales pitches. “Our only agenda is to provide local nonprofits with new ways to increase awareness and relevancy, and leverage the powerful tools and strategies available in today’s marketing environment.”

The keynote address will be delivered by Mike Oates, president and CEO of Hudson Valley Economic Development Corp., who will discuss “Multiple Platforms, Social Media Drive Success.” Oates will share many marketing strategies, including how he built over 4,000 “Likes” on Facebook for his organization.

Dr. John D’Ambrosio, president and CEO of the Orange County Chamber of Commerce, will lead an open discussion on ways nonprofit CEOs can increase their level of board engagement.

Focus Media will provide its expertise in a series of seminars. Bill Madden, executive vice president and chief operating officer, will discuss “Fundraising: Building Relevancy for Success”; Tony Morino, vice president of client services, will host a nonprofit panel on the topic “Marketing Nonprofits with Limited Resources”; and David Dirks, vice president of strategy, will discuss “Fundraising: Maximizing Your Leads.”
