POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. (July 17, 2019) – Hudson Valley Economic Development Corp. (HVEDC) announced the addition of Linda S. Muller of Cornerstone Family Healthcare to its Board of Directors.
Muller has been with Cornerstone Family Healthcare since 1991, and continues to operate under the principle that healthcare is a right, not a privilege. Under Muller’s guidance, Cornerstone has grown to a patient care network with more than 50,000 patients. Today, it has a total of 16 sites in four counties across New York.
Muller has earned a significant amount of respect in the healthcare field. She was honored by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, NY-HRSA Field Office for her work to improve the health status of underserved populations. She has also been recognized by the Newburgh Developer’s Association, the Newburgh/Highland NAACP and Independent Living for her work, and was named a “Woman of Achievement” in 2004 for the healthcare field. She teaches courses annually on Health and Human Service at Leadership Orange, and is the founder of an Emerging Leaders program at Cornerstone that helps to spur personal and professional growth.
“We are thrilled to welcome Linda to our HVEDC Board of Directors,” said Mike Oates, President and CEO of HVEDC. “She is a tremendously respected individual in the field of healthcare, and what she has done to help encourage and grow leaders all over the Hudson Valley is truly commendable. Her passion for professional growth and development in the region and her knowledge of and connections to the healthcare industry are incredible assets, and we couldn’t be happier to have her on our board.”
Muller currently serves on the Board of Directors for the following organizations: Orange County Chamber of Commerce (where she serves as Chairwoman of the Board), Affinity Health Plan (where she serves as the Secretary of the Board) and the New York State Council of Non-Profits. She is a past member of the Board of the National Association of Community Health Centers (where she currently serves as the Chairman of the Healthcare for the Homeless Committee) and Community Health Care Association of New York State.
Muller achieved a Bachelor of Arts from SUNY Buffalo in Communications, and a Master’s of Science with high honors in Health Policy and Administration from the Robert J. Milano School of Urban Studies, where she served as an adjunct professor shortly after her graduation.
“I am honored to join a wonderful team of dedicated entrepreneurs and influential members of the Hudson Valley business community on this board,” said Muller. “I am eager to assist in any way I can to help this organization continue to promote development in our region.”
